Bio
Prof. Bales studies the neurobiology of social behavior and how oxytocin may affect long-term social bonding, particularly in monogamous species. She is the director of the Laboratory for Comparative Neurobiology of Monogamy at the California National Primate Research Center. Her work with prairie voles and coppery titi monkeys focuses on how oxytocin and arginine vasopressin affect pair bonding and other social relationships.
